Frequently asked questions

As there are so many different types of CBD products available, you may be wondering which ones are more effective than others. In reality, different types of products work differently for each individual. For example, some users much prefer oils, while other would rather use capsules. This comes down to a variety of factors, such as taste and convenience. For example, some people dislike the taste of CBD oil and therefore reach for tasteless products like tablets and capsules. Others love the taste and much prefer the sublingual (under the tongue) method of using CBD. Each person’s personal preference, as well as the way their body interacts with different forms of CBD, is unique.

Another reason some users prefer to use capsules and tablets over oils is because of their convenience. For example, with our 30mg softgels, many users take one per day and don’t require any further top ups. In contrast, when taking oils, users typically top up their dose numerous times throughout the day. These two types of products also absorb differently. Oils absorb via thin mucous membranes under the tongue, while capsules absorb via digestion. Some users find that products that go through digestion first are best suited for their needs. Other prefer oils due to the fact that they avoid digestion. Taking CBD is an incredibly personal process and its all about what works best for you. There are very few blanket rules when it comes to CBD, especially pertaining to which types of products are better than others.

When you start using any new type of product, one of the first questions to spring to mind is whether it’s safe. This is especially true of ingestible products, as they interact with various parts of the body including major organs. With capsules and tablets, this can be even more confusing and nervewracking.

Let us put your mind at ease - our CBD capsules, tablets, and softgels are all 100% safe for human consumption. One of our core values is quality, and its something we never have and never will compromise on. This means you can rest assured that any product you purchase from us, including our capsules, are safe to use as instructed. You can also trust that they’re 100% natural as we always stay away from artificial additives.

Another reason people shy away from CBD capsules is because both CBD and capsules are often wrongly associated with drug use. CBD gets this false reputation because of its relation to the cannabis plant family. However, it does not cause any intoxicating effects and is classes as a legal food supplement, not as a drug.

Capsules and tablets also often get a negative connotation, but the important part is their contents and not the way they’re presented. If a capsule is full of vitamins, or CBD and essential oils, this is an entirely different thing that other pharmaceutical or recreational drugs that come in capsule form. Therefore, CBD capsules should never be lumped into these categories or be considered unsafe as they have no association with drugs or pharmaceuticals.

As CBD capsules are ingestible, you may be confused about whether its best to take them before or after eating. At Simply CBD, we advise taking CBD capsules and any other form of tablet or softgel after eating. This helps ensure that your body is able to properly process the CBD content and the other ingredients in the tablet or capsule.

A useful point to consider is how much CBD your body can absorb from the capsule, and how your food intake may have an impact on this. While some people think that less food in the digestive system competing for absorption could lead to better results, research has shown a different outcome. Studies show that consuming foods with a high fat content before ingesting CBD products can increase the absorption rate of the CBD substantially. This is because most CBD is fat soluble, including the CBD found in tablets, softgels, and capsules.

This doesn’t mean we think you should eat unhealthy food before each CBD capsule, regardless of the way fat increases bioavailability. Instead, it’s best to try to incorporate healthy fats into your routine where possible, especially around the time you take your CBD doses. Examples of foods that contain plenty of healthy fats include cheese, fatty fish like mackerel, nuts, seeds, and avocados.

That being said, taking CBD in any form, including capsules, is a process that is unique to each person. What works for you may have the opposite effect for another person, regardless of the product type. The important part is to slowly build up with your CBD dose and find a product that works for you and suits your personal needs and preferences.

Everyone responds differently to CBD. This means there’s no specific time frame for when CBD capsules will start producing your desired results. When you first start taking CBD of any kind, inducing capsules, your body’s endocannabinoid system needs some time to react to the CBD. Some people call this the endocannabinoid system ‘waking up’. This is a process that can take anywhere from a couple of hours to eight weeks. Using CBD products is a very personal process and each individual has a unique experience and set of results. This applies to the time it takes to begin seeing these results.

When you first start using CBD, it’s advisable to begin with a low dose and slowly build up until you achieve your desired results. Once you start to feel the effects of the CBD capsules, it’s advisable not to further increase your dose or usage frequency. This is because taking too much CBD at once can result in adverse effects. Additionally, increasing your dose without needing to will end up costing you much more than necessary to achieve your desired results.

If at any point you are confused about the building up process or feel you need further guidance to achieve your desired benefits, please reach out for support. We have a friendly team of Simply Experts who are always more than happy to help you with your CBD journey. We also offer a support group with over 47K members. This group is run by our customers who frequently use our CBD products. This puts them in a great position to help guide you on your journey.

CBD tablets are a type of CBD product, which means that they are infused with cannabidiol. Cannabidiol is an extract from the hemp plant, and is just one of over 100 cannabinoids. It has become increasingly popular in the health and wellness sector in recent years. This has meant that various different types of CBD products have emerged to suit the needs and preferences of various types of consumers. One of these options is CBD tablets.

CBD tablets offer an alternative ingestion method to other types of CBD products like edibles and oils. They’re tasteless and easy to ingest which is what makes them popular among many CBD users. It’s also easy to ensure you’re taking a correct and precise dose when using CBD tablets or capsules. Taking them involves the same process as taking any other type of supplement. This means drinking a full glass of water with each dose to ensure proper hydration.

CBD tablets come in various forms. These include options like softgels and delayed release capsules. They come in a variety of strengths and when you shop with us, you can rest assured that they’re made with high quality, natural ingredients. Our delayed release options come in lower and medium strengths, while our softgels are a high strength option. As with any form of CBD, it’s important to slowly build up until you find what’s right for you. For example, you may find that delayed release tablets aren’t for you and that softgels are a much better fit, or vice versa. Taking CBD is different for everyone so it’s important to listen to your body and make your decisions regarding CBD products and doses based on what its telling you.

CBD capsules and tablets work a little differently from other forms of CBD. When you take CBD tablets, such as one of our SoftGels, your body will absorb the CBD via your digestive system. When in the stomach, digestive acids and enzymes break down the SoftGel in your stomach to release the CBD. This CBD content is then metabolised by your liver before it enters your bloodstream. This provides a consistent and regulated mechanism for delivering CBD. If you're looking for a convenient method of CBD consumption, then SoftGels are a great option for you.

When you take one of our Delayed Release Capsules, the process is slightly different. While your stomach acid would normally begin to break them down, these capsules are designed to bypass this process. Instead, they absorb further down the digestive tract. This is believed to offer higher levels of bioavailability. So, while both products absorb via digestion, the exact methods differ.

Another key difference is their strengths. SoftGels offer 30mg of CBD per tablet. Our delayed release options offer either 7.5mg or 15mg of CBD per tablet. Most users only require one SoftGel per day, although some people take two when they need a higher dose. However, those who use Delayed Release Capsules often take up to three per day.

Our philosophy as a company is always to start low and start slow. Your endocannabinoid system works on a bell curve. If you take too much at once, you can go over the curve and overload. This could have the opposite effect of what you're hoping to achieve. Therefore, we'd always recommend starting with the lowest strength tablet. You can then build up to higher strengths as required. This will allow you to slowly build up your endocannabinoid system and fully realise your sweet spot.

Our lowest strength CBD capsules are our 7.5mg Delayed Release Capsules. This is a great starting point for new users. If necessary, you can then move up to the 15mg Delayed Release capsules. These are our high strength CBD capsules. Make sure you approach the process of moving up to high strength CBD capsules gradually. You may find that these products aren’t providing your desired results or you’d like to try something different. In this case, you could move up to our 30mg SoftGels. Many users enjoy this product for its convenience, as most people only require one tablet per day.

The best CBD capsules or tablets dose for you depends on the way your endocannabinoid system reacts to them. However, it’s important not to exceed the UK safety guidelines which state that users should take no more than 70mg of CBD per day.

When you buy any type of consumable product, it’s useful to understand how long you can expect it to last. With our CBD SoftGels, they typically expire around two years after purchase. This gives you plenty of time to use the entire pack and get your money’s worth before they expire. In order to be completely sure of when you can expect them to expire, check the packaging of the batch you receive. As for our Delayed Release Capsules, they typically expire around 12 months after purchase. As with the SoftGels, it’s important to check the packaging of your low or high strength CBD capsules to find their exact expiration dates.

The best way to ensure that your capsules and tablets last as long as advertised is by storing them properly. Both tablets and capsules should be kept away from direct sunlight. Ideally, they should be kept in a cool dark place out of the reach of children and pets. You should also avoid freezing these products as this can negatively impact their quality and longevity. Many users keep their capsules and tablets in a cupboard or on a shady shelf. As long as they aren’t being subjected to extreme temperatures and the lids are sealed properly, they should be absolutely fine.

One of the most common misconceptions about CBD products is that they will cause a high. This stems from their relationship with the cannabis plant family. However, this is completely untrue. The reason CBD doesn’t cause a high comes down to its origin. All legal CBD in the UK comes from licensed industrial hemp, which is one of the most well-known plants from the cannabis plant family. The other well-known plant from this family is marijuana, which remains illegal in the UK.

Hemp plants have a naturally high concentration of CBD and little to no THC content. Conversely, marijuana is very high in THC content and is naturally low in CBD. As THC is the compound that causes a ‘high’ sensation, it’s commonly used as a recreational drug. Hemp, on the other hand, contains very little of this cannabinoid and therefore does not cause intoxication.

CBD in the UK can contain no more than 0.2% THC content, which is nowhere near enough to cause a ‘high’ sensation. The reason THC isn’t completely excluded from all CBD products is due to the entourage effect. Full spectrum CBD products, such as our Delayed Release CBD Capsules, contain varying levels of all of the naturally occurring cannabinoids and plant compounds from hemp. When they all work together, they’re thought to be more effective than one isolated cannabinoid. However, legal CBD products that adhere to UK regulations will never contain enough THC to cause a high. CBD isolate products, such as our CBD SoftGels, contain no THC whatsoever. For extra peace of mind, please take a look at our lab reports to gain a better understanding of the cannabinoid make-up of our full spectrum products.

The rules surrounding CBD and travelling can differ depending on multiple factors. This means there are some considerations to take before travelling with your CBD capsules or tablets.

Domestic travel

If your travel plans are solely within the UK, you’re unlikely to face any issues with taking your tablets or capsules with you. That being said, if your plans involve flying, we always advise that you contact your airline. This allows you to confirm whether they have any regulations around CBD that you need to know about. When you travel domestically, the regulations at your destination will not differ from the regulations where you live. This is because if your CBD products adhere to the government’s regulations, they’re legal throughout the entire UK.

International travel

The legality of travelling with CBD differs between destinations. As with domestic flights, it’s always best to reach out to your airline to check that your capsules and tablets fit within their regulations. If the customs department at your destination (including any layover destinations) and the airline team have no issues with CBD products, you should be fine to travel with them. If you’re travelling to a destination with strict restrictions and regulations surrounding CBD, such as Dubai, you won’t be able to bring your capsules or tablets with you. This is also the case if your airline has any rules against you flying with CBD products.

Other travel considerations

It’s important to keep in mind that slight variations in CBD laws can make a massive difference. For example, in the UK, full-spectrum CBD products can contain no more than 0.2% THC content. However, in the USA, full-spectrum CBD products can contain no more than 0.3% THC content.

The difference between the two laws may seem minuscule. However, if you purchased full spectrum CBD capsules or tablets with 0.3% THC content in the US, you wouldn’t be able to bring them to the UK. This is because they don’t follow the UK government’s regulations.

If you’re brand new to CBD and still need to find what works for you, it’s best to start with a one-time purchase. This way you can find out which product(s) suit your needs before committing to a regular subscription. If you find that CBD capsules or tablets are the best option for you, you may want to set up a subscription. This helps you ensure that you never miss a dose, as consistency is key with CBD products.

You can choose how frequently you want new batches to arrive. This will depend on your dosage and how consistent you are with taking them. Your products can be delivered every one, two, or three months. Once you set up your subscription preferences, you never have to worry about ordering your favourite CBD products again. They will show up at your doorstep without you having to lift a finger!

If you have any questions about the subscription service, please feel free to reach out to us. Our team of Simply Experts will be more than happy to assist you with any queries you may have. They can also help you set up your subscription and customise the date that it arrives. For example, some users like to time their payment and delivery for shortly after their payday.

Full-spectrum CBD contains all of the cannabinoids and plant compounds that naturally occur in hemp plants. This type of CBD is considered to be more potent than CBD isolate because it can create the entourage effect. This is what occurs when all of the compounds and cannabinoids are able to work together. Both our low strength and high strength CBD capsules are full spectrum.

Full-spectrum CBD contains a rich blend of cannabinoids and terpenes. It even includes trace amounts of minerals and vitamins. CBD is the prominent cannabinoid found in full-spectrum CBD, but there are also several minor ones, including CBG, CBC and CBN. You’ll also find terpenes like myrcene. This is a compound that is also found in plants like thyme and lemongrass, the latter being a plant used in traditional folk remedies for centuries. When cannabinoids like CBD interact with terpenes like myrcene, the properties are amplified. In the case of myrcene, it offers anti-inflammatory properties.

Full-spectrum CBD also contains flavonoids. Flavonoids are components found in many plants, fruits, and vegetables. They are naturally abundant in antioxidant activity. The role of flavonoids is to help regulate cellular activity in the body, protecting it against everyday toxins and stressors. Some of the flavonoids found in full-spectrum CBD include orientin, quercetin, silymarin and kaempferol.

One question you might have about full-spectrum CBD is whether it contains THC. In case you don’t know, THC is a cannabis compound that can cause a ‘high’ sensation. Full-spectrum CBD only contains trace amounts (less than 0.2%) of THC at most. Many full-spectrum CBD products contain significantly smaller THC quantities than this. For example, our Green CBD Oil independent laboratory test shows the THC content at just 0.025%. These trace amounts are not enough to ever cause a ‘high’.

CBD isolate is known as the purest form of CBD. Instead of including any of the other plant compounds or cannabinoids, CBD isolate products only contain CBD from the hemp plant. This is achieved by adding an extra step to the extraction process. After the initial stage, the next step involves decarboxylation. This process separates the CBD content from any other compounds in the extract. This CBD is then lab tested to ensure that it’s at least 99% pure, before being added to CBD isolate products.

While THC is by no means a bad compound to ingest, especially in the trace amounts found in full spectrum products, some people prefer to avoid it. If you want to stay away from any THC content, you may want to try CBD isolate or broad spectrum CBD products. CBD isolate products are great for those who are just starting out with CBD as they are typically simpler to dose. This may help you find your most suitable dose more easily. For example, our CBD SoftGels are made with CBD isolate.

It’s worth mentioning that CBD isolate contains no terpenes or flavonoids in addition to no other cannabinoids. This means that it’s impossible to experience the entourage effect when using only CBD isolate products. CBD isolate is still effective as CBD is the main ingredient across all CBD products. However, the entourage effect is thought to give broad and full spectrum products the ability to provide more potent effects. There are benefits of each product type, so the key is to find what works best for you.
