What is CBD Oil?

CBD is also known as cannabidiol oil, one of the many active ingredients in the cannabis plant. These ingredients are grouped under the heading 'cannabinoids' because they interact with your body. Many people don't know that the human body has many cannabinoid oil receptors in different cells. The primary purpose of these receptors is to send signals to the brain. Therefore, when something acts on the cannabinoid receptors in your body, it can change the way different signals are sent to the brain, altering the release of other neurotransmitters.

Of course, your brain is the control centre for your body. It dictates all the different processes that happen without you even realising anything is going down. So, to put things simply, CBD is a compound that can incite changes throughout your body.

How much CBD should I take, and how often?

"Start low and slowly grow" is the key to starting your CBD journey. This will allow you to slowly build up your endocannabinoid system and fully realise your sweet spot. Your endocannabinoid system works on a bell curve, and if you take too much at once, you can go over the curve and overload. This could have the opposite effect of what you're hoping to achieve.

Start by taking one drop three times a day and increasing by one drop per interval each week (i.e. week two, you would take two drops three times a day) until you reach the desired benefits.

Rest assured, we’re here to support and guide you as you build up your dose amounts to help you get to the desired benefit stage.

What is Full Spectrum CBD?

When CBD Oil is made with Full Spectrum CBD drops, you will benefit from multiple plant extracts, including essential oils, terpenes, and cannabinoids.

This is the cannabinoid in the plant that produces the 'high.' feeling. It is usual for Full Spectrum CBD oil tincture products to contain small amounts of THC. However, THC is present in such low quantities in these products (up to a maximum of 0.2%) that it is not strong enough to produce psychoactive effects.

Full Spectrum CBD contains additional plant compounds, including CBDa. Thus, it may produce a more potent effect than CBD isolate, which is more processed. This is due to what has become known as the 'entourage effect'. Essentially this is when the different cannabinoids in CBD work together to create an effect that can be more significant than any of the active ingredients can make on their own.

What is CBD Isolate?

Extracted from the plant, CBD Isolate is the purest form of cannabidiol.

Unlike Full or Broad Spectrum CBD, CBD isolate contains only CBD. None of the other terpenes or essential oils extracted from the hemp plant will be present.

CBD Isolate is 99% pure CBD. After following the traditional extraction process for CBD, the resulting oil is further refined to strip away all of the other phytocannabinoids (THC) to leave behind the purest form of CBD.

CBD Isolate is also completely free of THC, which is why it proves so popular for many. It's also a great way to get started on your CBD journey as it's very easy to dose because the exact amount of CBD in each product can be accurately measured.

How Does CBD Oil Work?

When using CBD, the cannabinoids produce effects that interact with the cannabinoid receptors within the body, which form part of the endocannabinoid system.

Within the body, two receptors are produced:

CBD1 receptors are present throughout the body, particularly in the brain.

CBD2 is more common within the immune system and affects inflammation and pain.

CBD works by stimulating the receptors so that the body produces its cannabinoids, known as endocannabinoids.

What does CBD oil taste like?

CBD oil UK can have a grass-like, nutty, or earthy taste, which indicates it is non-toxic, safe, and natural. It tastes this way because the extract is derived from the plant's flowers, leaves, and stems. So all of the natural compounds of the plant are preserved to create an original flavour.

Many people are worried that they won’t enjoy the taste of CBD oil. The truth is that the taste varies from product to product, so it is essential to buy quality. So, not all organic CBD oil tastes terrible, yet we cannot deny that some oils may have a displeasing taste! The good news is that there are plenty of different ways around this.

Firstly, you have plenty of different flavours to choose from. Here at Simply CBD, we have everything from lemon to mint, ensuring you can select a flavour that appeals to your taste buds.

This makes CBD oil much more enjoyable, and many customers love trying out the different flavours!

However, this is not the only way you can enjoy the taste of CBD oil. One of our personal favourite ways to consume this is by adding chocolate buttons. Any excuse for some more chocolate, right? Trust us; you won’t regret it!

You can also get water-soluble solutions, which you can put into your tea or coffee. Whether you’re a fan of a good old English cuppa or you like a chai latte, you can add a drop of CBD and consume it in this way.

As you can see, there are many different options, and so consuming CBD oil most certainly does not need to be a bad taste experience.

Will it get you high?

The simple answer is no, so why do people think CBD gets you high?

Realistically, it's all down to the association between CBD and cannabis. When people hear that this product derives from the plant, the natural line is to assume it makes you get high. That is the only reason behind this common misconception - there is no evidence to suggest that CBD gets you high at all, and the science backs this up.

All in all, if you're worried about taking CBD products because you don't want to get high, there's nothing to worry about. Remember, THC is the compound in cannabis that provides psychoactive effects. CBD products are regulated to include no more than 0.2% THC, which is nowhere near enough to elicit these effects. In short, CBD will not get you high!
