For this recipe, we recommend adding your ideal dose of CBD oil by infusing it into a small amount of olive oil. We also advise adding this at a late stage of the cooking process (as shown in our instructions below) so the CBD isn’t exposed to high heat for too long, as adding it too early can impact its potency.

  • 2 ½ tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 red bell pepper, chopped
  • 3-4 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 can of crushed tomatoes
  • 4-6 large eggs

Instructions

Here are the step-by-step instructions to follow to make the perfect CBD-infused shakshuka:

  • First, heat two tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. 
  • Add your onion and bell pepper to the oil and cook for around five minutes or until softened.
  • Next, add your garlic, cumin, paprika, and cayenne pepper, and let them cook for one minute.
  • Now it’s time to pour in your crushed tomatoes, season with salt and pepper, and allow them to simmer for up to 15 minutes or until the sauce thickens.
  • To infuse with CBD, mix two teaspoons of olive oil with your dose of CBD oil in a small dish, then stir your infused oil into the sauce.
  • Once you’ve finished your CBD infusion, make some small wells in the sauce and crack your eggs into each well.
  • Cover and cook until your eggs are set to your liking, typically around five to eight minutes.
  • While the eggs cook, prepare some bread for dipping (i.e. toast it, butter it, slice it, whatever is needed to prepare your bread of choice).
  • Once your eggs are cooked and your bread is ready for dipping, garnish your shakshuka with fresh coriander and/or parsley for an extra dash of flavour.
